I am getting annoyed with the increasing number of people who are carting their animals to work, stores, restaurants and hotels. These are not guide dogs or working dogs I am referrig to but rather the pesky toy dogs that are now a fashion trend. They are not cute no matter how many accessories you put on them. The sanctions against smoking in public places need to also exist for pets.|||Because dogs are simply not seen as loving faithful companions, but sickly tiny ill-bred dogs that are used as throw-away fashion, not really bothering about the dogs welfare (they CAN walk!!!) I'm not speaking of everyone but it's sad nowadays how everything is about how you look.|||People just like to show off their pet..
If it's somewhere you work talk to your boss and tell him that it's bothering you.
If he's a good boss, he'll do something about it.
And another thing to do when you do that, talk to some of your fellow workers and see if they feel the same way. If they do then you need to get them to tell your boss also.
The more he hears it the better the chance of him doing something..
But if it's not your work..
It's a trend, and trends dont last forever. I personally have the same problem, I dont like it when people do that. But we just have to wait for the trend to fade, no matter how long it takes, it wont last forever.|||I totally agree with you. I don't see the need for people to
cart them around except they think they are cool because they are like a designer purse or something. But then I can't understand why people stand in lineups yakking on their
cel phones. Yesterday I was behind this woman who was
buying a ton of groceries. She talked on the cel phone the
whole time the cashier was ringing up her order never looked
at the woman or acknowledged her and then BIG surprise
she was asked for money. Like she didn't know this was going to happen. Now is is still yakking to her friend while rooting around forever looking for her wallet. In the meantime
the rest of us were lined up behind her fuming as it right
after work. Also why do you have talk on the cel phone in the movies??|||Today's culture is so out of hand-
they see these dogs as accesories, or try to humanize them.
It gets on my nerves too!|||I can understand not wanting them in grocery stores and restaurants, but what's wrong with a person bringing their pet to a hotel or work (if the hotel/boss allows it)? They should be allowed to bring their friend with them. I occasionally take my snake up to where I work (in a petstore) to show off to my coworkers, and they've done the same. Since mine is a hatchling, they like to see him once in a while to see how he's coming along.|||Kanbo,
I agree that pet owners, bringing their pets into restaurants, stores, work etc. can be very annoying. For those of us who are squeamish around animals, seeing pet in thees public places can make us feel uncomfortable
I guess these pet owners feel such an attachment to their pets, that they either, cannot stand to leave their pets at home, while they are out, or maybe these owners feel that it is acceptable to have animals peeking out of their purses, like the latest accessory. I say people should start speaking up, to put in places rules, to prevent pet owners from bringing their pets into public places, without a valid reason. (i.e. guide dog)
In conclusion, to all you pet owners, leave your nasty, smelly animals at home, or even better, in the wild, where they belong!
