I wnat to get a dog or a cat, but I am thinking about what they will do when i am not there. How do pets entertain themselves? Can I just leave them in the yard? I willd definitely get two so they can have each other for company.|||Please don't leave your pets outside alone all day. People can be cruel and you do not know what they will do if they see your pet alone. Or they may just steal it.
you can either take them to a boarding kennel if you can afford it, or maybe hire a pet sitter. or take them to a family members house if they have nothing else to do.
Personally, My dogs just stay in the house until i get home. I give them food and water in the morning before work and i walk them. Then on my lunch hour i come home and walk them again. Be sure to give them toys to keep them from being bored. If you like, you can leave the television on for them for background noise.
But definitly make sure they cant get into your trash (if its over-flowing take it out, thats happen to me before heh.)
And keep your bathroom door closed, or they could play with the toilet paper or jump in the toilet.
And if you dont want them eating your shoes, keep your closet or bedroom door closed when you are gone.
Hope this helps!|||they will sleep and eat most of the time. leave them in the house you dont want them 2 run away.|||If it's a cat, you just leave it to sleep all day. As long as you have a litter box.
A small house trained dog will do the same, just remember to walk him/her before you leave in the morning.
If it's an outside dog, just make sure there's plenty of water and he/she has a place to go to get out of the sun. I'm assuming you have a fence.
You don't really have to get two animals, but that's up to you.|||dogs and cats love to play with each other all day long. I am at home durring luch break so I let my dogs out in the yard durung the morning hours before I go to work. Then I come home from work at noonand put them up untill I get home in the afterneen. This way they are not in the heat all day long. They get togo and run and play in the morning and rest in the evening. Then when I come home I put them out again and feed them one more time before I put them up for the night. This way I can play with them some before they go to bed with me.
Hope this helps.|||Cats are less trouble, and they sleep most of the day anyway.
Keep them inside with a litter box, so they can't get into any danger outside.
You need to read up on different sites on how to have a pet and all the expense and responsibilities that come with ownership.
Try DrsFosterSmith.com|||they cry and wait poop and drink slober chew and sleep|||If you work 8 or more hours a day, don't bother with a dog.. And don't get 2 dogs, cause you only end up with 2 bored dogs.. Go for the cat, the cat could really care less one way or another if you are even home..|||Dogs typically sleep most of the day. I leave for work around 7 am and someone is home by 3:30ish to let them out. I don't like leaving them more than 10 hours without them getting a "pee-pee" break. Don't get two dogs at the same time. Get one and bond with him/her for a while then get a second one if you still want one. If you get two dogs (especially puppies) they will tend to bond to one another first instead of you becoming the most important thing for them. Also if you get a puppy, there is no way he/she can wait all day long to pee-pee. You would have to paper train in a room cause you shouldn't crate a dog for long. General rule is one hour for each month they are. So if a puppy is 3 months old it should not spend longer than 3 hours in a crate and even then that is pushing it.|||Mine are kenneled when I'm not home so that they don't get into trouble while I'm gone. I put a bowl with ice cubes in it so that they can keep hydrated and toys so that they can keep busy. Their kennel is inside in the airconditioning - They are very happy boys :)|||Get an animal sitter. You can not leave a pet in the garden it will escape as well as you can not do that in winter.|||Most of my dogs, (I have seven) stay at home. They have toys and beds and spend a lot of time sleeping. A few of them, one in particular, go to work with me everyday. It's their/his job to sit at the reception desk and greet people when they come in to our office. The clients love it, my dogs love it and I love it.|||People usually do leave there pets alone. My cat would just entertain herself outside all day. I knew someone with an indoor cat and he would leave the TV on for it.
