If you are dead set on getting one immediately, do your research. Research is the #1 way to prove to a parent that you are ready to care for a new pet. Show them you are dedicated to getting a dog. Volunteer at a local rescue or shelter. This will help you keep an eye out for an adoptable Bichon, as well as show your parents that you truly love spending time with animals and aren't simply going through a phase or wanting a small dog because it is "cool".
You are much too young to be the primary caretaker of a dog, so your parents must know that they will be responsible for paying vet bills, food bills, trips to the groomer, etc. There are 542 Bichon Frise available for adoption on www.petfinder.com. If you explain to your parents that there are 27 million dogs in shelters, and of those 27 million, 16 million will be put to sleep this year, they will be impressed by both your willingness to help those in need as well as devotion to memorizing such statistics.
So good luck, and stay persistent! Show them pictures of a dog you are interested in. Buy a stuffed dog and pretend it is a real dog for a few weeks. Take it on walks, feed it, give it water. You may laugh, but working by a fake dog-owning schedule helped me get a dog.|||tell daddy that mommy already agreed lol :)|||You can cry and stomp your feed and see if your dad gives in..
Actually I think that is very unfair of your parents.. If they were decent parents, they would discuss it and they would both say Yes or No, they wouldn't both give you a difference answer.. That suggests to me that they don't do a good job of making rules and discussing things.. or they wouldn't be divided on the issue..|||show your dad you can be responsible
