How do I convince my grandma that chinchillas are good pets?

It's the only type of small animal I'd enjoy as a pet but she thinks they smell too much.


Everything I've read online says that it's not the chinchilla, it's the cage; and the cage won't smell as long as you clean it at least once a week.


She said she used to raise them and they were all very smelly.
