What happens to the pets of a person living alone who is taken to hospital?

If there are no family or friends in the area to assume responsibility of them?

By pets I mean dogs, cats etc, not just fish/hutched animals|||Anyone who takes on the responsibility of a pet must make provision for them in an emergency. If there is no one who would agree to simply taking your pet to a Boarding Kennel, then don't get a pet.|||Good question Amzie. Hopefully Social Services would ask a neighbour to look after the pet, or make arrangements for kennelling etc.|||any pets need to be taken care of

if no one then i hope that the person lets them know and they will send animal control to pick up.

otherwise they die
