How do I get my pets from one city to the next?

Starting school in a new city, and I have a bunch of pets to take with me to my new flat. It's a 6 hour drive, two cats, 3 turtles, a fish, and a porcupine. How do I transport them all. I especially want to know how to transport my fish without killing him. Should I get a moving van, because I'll have other stuff to take too.|||Don't put the animals themselves in the moving van, just furniture.

For the fish and turtles, you're going to need to drain some of the water with a siphon until it's manageable to carry and so that it won't slosh over during the ride. It's a good idea to keep some of the dirty water in a covered bucket so that a large water change won't shock them.

I suggest moving all of the animals last so that you know where they need to go. I'd personally transport the fish, turtles, and porcupine together (provided it's caged), then the cats during another trip so that they aren't under your feet when bringing the tanks inside. If you take them all in one trip, then let the cats out after everything is settled!

To transport the cats, I would put them in a big dog crate big enough for a litter box, feeding, and sleeping area. Then they should be fine for the 6 hour ride, maybe halfway through you could leash them if they like that, and let them walk around a bit outside.|||well never take animals on a plane they will go crazy so in a car but lots of stops on the way
